Hi all - we're very excited to say that we are currently working on a brand new site! This will also mean that our message board will become a part of the new site.
We shall post a message when it is time to move on over - hopefully in a few weeks' time.

Our Falling Aussie Dollar « Result #3 on Oct 6, 2008, 11:14pm »
I just want to cry as I watch this falling Aussie Dollar!
The dollar looked so beautiful only a few short weeks ago - but for whatever reason, it has dropped over 30% in recent times.
What this means, unfortunately, is that most of the prices in our catalogue will soon need to increase - as we order new stocks, we'll be purchasing them at a higher cost.
We will, of course, keep them down as long as we can, but, some stocks are already running low - we had hoped it would do a 'turn-around', but it seems to only be dropping even further.
So, I thought it best to pre-warn you all, especially as we near the time of placing orders for next year - if you had intended to put in an order, it may be best to do so earlier than later.

Book Display Day - Victoria « Result #5 on Aug 28, 2008, 2:33pm »
Hi all! We will be at the Book Display Day, as listed below. This means we will also be closed for a few days prior to, and after, the event.
Hope to see you there!
It’s Book Display Time !!
And we were just nutty enough to say “Yay! Can we do it this year?!”
PLEASE, if you can, take time to come out and join us for the
Annual Catholic Home Ed Book Display Day
Home educators, Catechists and all interested parties welcome!!
Where: St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Iona When: Saturday September 13th, from 10am – 4pm Cost: $5 per family/person
Tea and Coffee is provided in the cost for mums and dads, but, due to some need for sanity on our part, we are not providing food, so bring your own. Moneys raised go to paying for the use of the facilities.
Who’s Displaying?
Pat Mills (for Seton and some Australian materials) J23 St Benedicts Adnil Press
Our facilites are an old School consisting of 3 classrooms and 3 large corridor classrooms. One room we will be leaving for little ones to play in with toys from the Home Ed day. Because we are nervous and this is our first day, we are just displaying books, and have no plans for speakers. (NO speakers! Are you kidding?! Every book day I’ve been to is full of speakers – us mums mainly!) The suppliers are really supporting us, so we hope you can come along and help make the day a success. There will be a second hand book table with some cheap bargains from a school teacher’s booty, and if you have any thing you would like to sell, please bring it along with a named and priced envelope for people to place the money when they buy. Also on display will be some samples of Art from our own Home Ed day.
If traveling from the Melbourne side, Bunyip is 20 mins from Pakenham. Turn right off the Princes Fwy at the Bunyip exit, and follow this road all the way, through Bunyip, over the railway line and the Longwarry/NarNar Goon Rd. The road is sealed with 2 or 3 wiggles. On your left is a huge drainway and you will pass a small bridge. There are only a few houses about. A little further on is a second bridge and the St Joseph’s Parish entrance is directly opposite this. The display day is located in the Old School, back of the Church building. The formal address is 1215 Bunyip River Road Iona. From the turn off on Princes Fwy to the Church, it’s only approx. 7 minutes. So why not come along and get next years curriculum plan started? Hope we see you there!

Email Problems! « Result #7 on Mar 4, 2008, 9:45am »
HI all - it appears we're having some problems with our email server; although we have answered every email, person after person is emailing again, or telephoning us, to say they have not heard from us!
So please - if you have not received an answer to an email you've sent over the past couple of weeks, email us again (we're receiving them fine!), and we'll get back to you asap. I've been looking at switching over to gmail - now may be the time!
Our apologies, and do contact us if you feel you should have received an answer by now, but have not.

Re: Voyages in Phonics « Result #8 on Feb 15, 2008, 10:18pm »

Wow, this is new!
I am wanting to know as much as I can find out about Voyages in Phonics. I have been down the LEM road with older children and it has been reasonably successful. I liked it because it was Australian.
This time though I have a 4.5 year old who is very interested in doing "schoolwork". I would like to hear from anyone who has used VIP. I was also wondering whether it could be used in conjunction with the Fitzroy Readers and I think it is workbooks. I am guessing they teach the writing which goes along with the reading if that makes sense. Or are you supposed to use Voyages in Language.
Anyhow, he is quite bright and knows his numbers and colours and can talk the leg off an iron pot (has 3 older brothers to compete with). So I just need something that would be not too long winded or boring looking I suppose.
Thanks
Juanita
Hi Juanita - we've been using Voyages in Phonics to teach our children to read since 1993.
The lessons are short, and designed to cover all the phonograms, progressing from simple letter combinations to reading words, sentences, and paragraphs.
You will find sample pages on the web-site, just click on the cover of Voyages in Phonics to view them.
We also use the Phonics is Fun workbooks alongside the programme, as well as incorporating some reading from 'real' books - this could be the Fitzroy readers, or Dr. Seuss books, or any other simple reading material.
I have the child read the lesson, and then copy out at least a part, if not all, of the lesson into an exercise book - this helps greatly in the learning process.
We ususally incorporate the lessons from Voyages in Language when the child is around half-way through the phonics book. This gives them some extra practice in copy and dictation work, which they are usually ready for by this stage.

Web-site Update: And a Reduction in Prices! « Result #13 on Nov 4, 2007, 9:10pm »
Hi all!
Well, it's been a busy week - we've re-priced nearly all of our overseas products, due to the improvement in the exchange rate - which means, many of our prices have come down!
The website is being uploaded as I type - so, it should be ready for viewing later this evening.

A Message for our customers... « Result #14 on Oct 19, 2007, 2:09pm »
Hi all. Please be aware that there may be a few delays with the processing of orders over the next few weeks.
It's now 'reaping' time on the farm, meaning Bill is driving the header most days. Therefore, there may be some delays in the processing of orders and replying to emails / phone calls. We will, of course, attempt to keep these delays to a minimum, but we do ask for your patience.

Notice regarding For Sale Items « Result #15 on Aug 24, 2007, 4:50pm »
In this section, we will be listing any items we have for sale that are either old stock, seconds, or simply on special.
Please note that 'seconds' does NOT mean used! These are items that have been received with some damage, or have been damaged at a conference, or simply by being on the shelf for some time - maybe a bent corner, a torn cover, a grubby mark, etc. Full details will be included with each post, so you know what it is you are purchasing.
If you are interested in making a purchase, please leave a message under the For Sale post, as all items are sold on a 'first-in, first-served' basis.

FAQ - check here first! « Result #17 on Aug 23, 2007, 1:28am »
If you have a general question of Adnil Press, you may find the answer below. Please check here first!
Q: What would be the delivery time of my order?
A: We ask you allow 21 days for delivery of your order - unless we are sold out of a product, in which case delivery could take up to 6 weeks. Mostly, you'll receive your order in around 10 days, but as a home-run business, life sometimes 'takes over', hence we ask for the 21 day allowance.
Q: Do you accept credit-card payments?
A: Unfortunately, we are not currently set up to accept credit card payments. However, we are able to accept credit card payments through Paypal. Paypal payments should be made to: adnil@dodo.com.au

Welcome to the Forum! « Result #18 on Aug 23, 2007, 1:24am »
Hi all - and welcome to the Adnil Press forum.
For a long time now, I've wanted to begin writing reviews on the many products I see come into our Adnil Press store.
We also have needed an updated board for Adnil Press - so, we've combined the two ideas, and created this board for both purposes.
The first section is where you may ask any questions about products, delivery times, payment details, etc. to do with Adnil Press.
In the review boards, you may post a comment on a review, however, if you wish to post your own review of a homeschooling product, please see the information in the 'Write a Review' section, near the base of the board.
Please note that: ALL Reviews on this board are the property of Adnil Press, and thus, ALL are are subject to copyright - please DO NOT copy, save, paste or transmit these reviews in any shape or form. If someone wishes to read a review, please direct them to this board.
I will be adding more reviews as I find the time - so check back often! I hope that we can be of service to you, and that you will find this board helpful in your homeschooling endeavours.
